Designed by Woulfe is led by Irish born, London-based Managing & Creative Director Brian Woulfe, who founded the company in 2009. His diverse portfolio of work includes interior design and development projects for private clients, property developers and commercial clients across Europe, the US and Asia-Pacific regions.
Brian enjoys the excitement of working with different styles and design genres simultaneously, as well as with clients who are passionate about their own homes. Some of Brian’s favourite projects to date include the property procurement and redevelopment of a coastal villa in Mallorca and the refurbishment of a modern family home in London’s Notting Hill.
Brian’s passion lies in designing luxurious, liveable interiors with a sense of playfulness. A perfectionist with a razor sharp eye for detail and a hands-on approach, his work attracts an international and discerning clientele. You’ll often find him on site, hard hat on, with The Woulfe Pack (his four-legged companions) in tow. Clients value Brian’s innate creative instincts as well as his responsive, optimistic and inspiringly zealous attitude.
A lover of the arts, Brian champions and supports young designers and craftspeople in the UK and beyond, with his work often celebrating emerging and under-represented talent. Brian is also passionate about discovering and collaborating with artisans around the world to incorporate their unique workmanship into his interiors. He enjoys enlisting local designers and suppliers when working on international projects, as well as commissioning one-of-a-kind objets d’art.
Brian is a proud BIID (British Institute of Interior Design) Registered Interior Designer and sits on the Professional Practice Committee as well as the Sustainability Committee. He is also a founding signatory of the environmental petition movement ‘Interior Design Declares‘ and plays an active role in mentoring through the BIID and KLC School of Design.
Brian is also an SBID Accredited Designer and proud member of The Institute of Designers in Ireland.
Brian has an ardent interest in the financial aspects of property, as well as how sustainable practices actuate investment returns. His studies in Real Estate Economics and Finance at LSE have deepened his knowledge on these topics, giving him a competitive edge as both an investor and developer. His comprehensive knowledge on these aspects of real estate enable him to critically evaluate property investment options, and, coupled with an extensive network of industry contacts, his clients are privy to priority information and off-market properties when looking to purchase a new home.
